The journey of Gaia’s Glasswear began in a place of quiet reflection and physical recovery. In 2018, I found myself navigating the slow days of post-surgery healing. Seeking a way to pass the time and engage my creativity, I signed up for a weekend glassworking class in Sherwood Park. From the moment the torch met the glass, I was immediately hooked by the molten medium and the infinite possibilities of light and color.
What started as a hobbyist’s curiosity quickly evolved into a deep-seated passion. In those early days, I worked with a simple 'Hothead' torch, but my desire to push the boundaries of the craft soon led to more professional aspirations. I established a dedicated home studio in Sherwood Park, AB, where I could refine my skills without limits.
The business was named Gaia’s Glasswear as a loving tribute to my dog, Gaia. Every piece created in the studio carries that same spirit of loyalty, beauty, and personal connection that she inspired. Today, that weekend class recovery project has blossomed into a full-scale artisan business, sharing handmade treasures with a community that appreciates the heart behind the flame.
